Japan silences China in Classic opener

Team Japan had a much harder time with China than three years earlier, but the Samurai wound up giving the sellout crowd at Tokyo Dome a victory to cheer Thursday in the opening game of the 2009 World Baseball Classic.

The defending Classic champions did not get on the scoreboard until the third inning but put enough offense together to take a 4-0 victory in Pool A play over a Chinese team that showed marked improvement over 2006.

Starting pitcher Yu Darvish, the 23-year-old right-handed sensation of Japanese-Iranian descent, didn't allow a hit through four innings to get the victory. Darvish (1-0) struck out three before turning the game over for the fifth inning to Hideaki Wakui, who gave up a single to Fei Feng for China's first of five hits.

The first of 39 games in the 16-team tournament was a far cry from the last time the two nations met in the Classic. Japan defeated China, 18-2, in the inaugural event in 2006.

Although former Major League manager Terry Collins' club struggled to get any offense going, the Chinese infield turned in several sharp plays, including a double play and two plays to cut down would-be runs with a throw home from a drawn-in infield.

中國整個level up！！！
比起去年已有大幅進步的北京奧運中國隊，這場又表現出更成熟的球技和心態
投手壓制的不錯，左投、 下勾各種形態的投手都出現了
雖然總共出現了8個BB，但其中7個都集中在福留孝介及中島裕之兩個選球機器上
守備更讚，飛撲、雙殺策動、本壘封殺通通都來了，雖然也出現兩個低級失誤~
但整體而言不賴的守備能力更令人印象深刻
至於打擊就真的有待加強，面對日本的一流強投一點抵抗能力都沒有
150的速球一直塞差不多就掰了，長打能力更是貧弱

這場可以分數咬那麼進，除了中國確實大幅進步
日本打線還再恍神也是原因
除了7891四棒MLB組連線一隻安打都擠不出來之外，跑壘也極度搞笑
間接形成中國不賴的守備以及危機處理能力
若不是村田一發兩分砲，日本恐怕會打的更囧

不過應該還不至於可以說中國的實力已逼進中華
這似乎是大家最擔心的
應該說，整體水準而言，中國跟我們水準還是有某程度的落差
但若以召喚菁英的短期賽，就會像這場一樣
顯得中國特別強大了~
